How often does your hosting have URL rewriting available?
Perch has never relied on URL rewriting functionality (such as Apache's
mod_rewrite) to be available on web hosting. Whilst that proved a sound decision 10 years ago for Perch 1, it may not be the case today.

Understanding Custom Editors Configuration
Perch ships with three in-built editors: MarkItUp, SimpleMDE and Redactor. These are configured in a way that hooks them in with functionality provided by Perch such as Assets. You can, however, specify your own configuration. This is useful for adding additional toolbar plugins and so on.
